Create aligned original + modified texts for EL students
Saves everything on this form — both texts, the title and labels, and the options — in one file. Open it here later to keep working on it, or send it to a colleague so they can change it for their students. The file only opens on this page: students still need the reading you download below.
Paste each text below. Separate paragraphs with blank lines. Each paragraph on the left will be aligned with the matching paragraph on the right. Both texts should have the same number of paragraphs. Inside a paragraph, line breaks are ignored (text copied from a PDF breaks every line). To keep a line break, in a poem, song, or dialogue, end the line with \\.
This is how the reading will look. The buttons to save it as a PDF, open it in a new window, or download it are below the preview.
"Save as PDF" opens your browser's print dialog — choose "Save as PDF" as the printer. The PDF works well in Google Drive, Classroom, or any LMS.
